Though spots that meld restaurant, lounge, and bar are aplenty in NYC, few are located in the midtown area. Haven, a welcome addition amidst all the indigenous beer bars, is a bi-level space with a lounge and bar located at the street level and a second level which partly overlooks the ground floor. Located in a former townhouse (and co-owned by actor Bershan Shaw), Haven is dimly-lit and stocked with paintings, chandeliers, mahogany, a back-porch and a random assortment of books, statues, masks and other objets d’art. Fittingly, prices here aren't cheap -- cocktails go for about $14 and and the (very) small eats will set you back around $15. Expect a mix of suits and Euros.
