Bar Local - If Google Maps ever opened up a bar, it’d probably look similar to this shoebox-sized Clapham nightspot, where murals of enlarged satellite maps and framed city scenes serve as décor. Space is hard to come by on a weekend night in this long, narrow room, so count yourself lucky if you get one of the coveted seats near the front window or in the back. Count yourself really lucky if you manage to get your drinks from the packed bar without being groped, stepped on, spilled on, elbowed, or all four. The crowds make Bar Local inconvenient for a long stint—unless you show up early or hire the back area for your group—but the pulsating DJ-spun club beats, decent prices, and up-for-anything population make it suitable for a quick drink and maybe even a snog. Weeknights are more relaxed, and you can order up some small bites to go with your Staropramen.
