Time Out New York Lounge - The common acronym for the Time Out New York Lounge is the TONY Lounge, a tongue-in-cheek nod to its Theatre District location downstairs in the New World Stages building on West 50th Street. Up to six off-Broadway shows stage nightly there and the specialty cocktails in this small, open lounge have names inspired by the current run. It’s a place of transience, like an airport or hotel, where patrons are a hodge-podge collection of locals and tourists who all have in common their need to kill time, in this case primarily before curtain. Weekday happy hour specials are from 5pm to 7pm and guarantee half-priced booze. Candles on the bar top, upon closer inspection, are battery-operated and the rest of the décor only subtly celebrates the magazine sharing the space’s namesake.
