Comix - What do you get when you cross a trendy, sleek space with the likes of David Spade, Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog? Comix, the Meatpacking District's first comedy club where the steep drink prices match its upscale neighborhood. In fact, when you see what a $13 cocktail gets you (hint: not much), you'll laugh so hard you might fall out of one of the bent-wood stools that surround the bar and perimeter of the space. Aside from the copper-clad bar, marble floors, and two plasma TVs that occasionally broadcast a sold-out show live to latecomers, there's not much else to the almost awkwardly minimalist chic décor. The plus side: the cocktail menu, which changes quarterly, includes unique mixes such as the Poolside Cocktail, a blend of Bacardi Grand Melon with hints of cantaloupe, melon, and blueberries served with fresh cranberry and lime juice. Hoeggarden, Peroni, Miller Light, Brooklyn Lager, and Stella are the beers on tap, and a handful each of red and white wines are available by the glass. Snack on small plates such as buttermilk fried Vidalia onion rings or order a full steak dinner at the bar.
