Tuts - Just another unassuming L.E.S. bar on the outside, Tuts is a colorful playland on the inside. A darkened glass façade hides thousands of square feet of rich lighting and lavish Egyptian decor. Hookahs are a main attraction and can be enjoyed along with snacks like pita and hummus on a chill weekday or with a specialty cocktail on the more raucus weekends. The main space on the ground floor, with its DJ booth, projector, bar, and VIP-style seating area in the rear, is plenty of dance club for partygoers, but in the basement hides what could be essentially another venue: a full bar, another DJ booth, and a large-size lounging bed tucked behind a wall of curtains. When the downstairs isn’t booked for a private party, it’s one more space in which everyone can play.
