Ludo - What’s old is out and what’s new is in, right? Located in the former Lower East Side landmark, Chez Es Saada, Ludo has become the “it” spot for those trendy twenty/thirty year old fashionistas and foodies alike. Originating from the Latin word, “to play,” the food will ensure a pleasurable sensation. Enter and walk down a staircase bathed in blue light into a subterranean cave-like space and you’ll feel like your plunging in a pool of water. The two main rooms are sultry and elegant with exposed stone and candles all around abeting the Mediterranean style of Little Italy. The staff is courteous and efficient and you’ll find yourself never without an empty glass. Ludo offers a global glazing menu for an array of diverse food lovers. With chef Einat Admony, it is no wonder the food is highly acclaimed by the regulars, not to mention highly sensual and sophisticated. Recommended: the shrimp and lamb. The philosophy here is the later the better, because the later is is, the better the crowd. Also, stop by the chic bar and try the Cucumber Ricky. Delicious. You won’t be sorry.
