A Cruise for Dance Addicts - Groove Cruise 2012

It's never too early to get ready for a party…especially when it's on a cruise…in the Bahamas…during winter! If you haven't caught on yet dance music fans, we're referring to everyone's favorite annual getaway in January, the infamous Groove Cruise! If you're not too familiar with the Groove Cruise just picture this: 2000 sexy people on a 72-hour journey to two islands on a massive cruise ship that features over 40 of the best dance music artists and endless parties. Is that enough?

It started off as a big group of friends that decided to go on a cruise in 2004, and quickly exploded into what it's known now as today, the world's largest fully charted dance music experience. If you love dance music and a good vacation in January, it's the perfect playground for those that love to work hard and play harder. Rather than having local resident DJs in South Florida play the party (where the cruise departs from), they've enlisted the help of some of the most sought after names in the dance music.

"We have about 35-40 artists right now," says Ryan Fitzpatrick, Marketing Director for Groove Cruise. "Our headliners are based on our demographic. We always have surveys to figure out who has the highest results, and we combine that with artist availability and our budget."

Past headliners include Deadmau5, Benny Benassi, Dirty South, Sharam, Robbie Rivera and Boris.  Believe it or not, the talent isn't the main attraction on the Groove Cruise, dance music fans are primarily enticed by the break after summer and the getaway from the snow.

"A large portion of our attendees are from cold areas, so it originally started as a getaway from the cold for those who didn't really have a vacation before winter set in," says Fitzpatrick. "It's a great time to get out of the cold and a great break after the summer. When you have a foot of snow waiting for you outside, you kind of want to get out."

Tickets for the 8th Annual Groove Crusie are currently on sale. This year's headliners include Funkagenda, Boris, Sander Van Doorn, Chris Lake, Thomas Gold, Anthony Attalla, Roger Sanchez and more! Pool parties, island parties and one massive cruise party await.
