MTV's New Reality Nightlife Show: Culture Club

MTV's New Reality Nightlife Show: Culture Club

Just when you thought that MTV would be changing it's reality TV format and going back to the good old days of it actually being "music television," there's word on the street of a new show being added to their list of less-than-titilating programming. This time, they're in search of a cast of nightlife characters for a new pilot titled Culture Club. The characters are already labeled, so a script is definitely already in the works for: The Dancer, The Bartender, The Model, The Waitress, The Flirt, The Player. Sounds pretty exciting, huh?

Here's what their ad asks:

"Do you go out in the city every night? Do you not wait in line? Are you the baddest bartender in town? Do you only buy bottle service? Do you only go the hottest clubs? Then MTV is looking for you."

What a call to action! We would pay top dollar just to see some audition videos for this one. They'll probably be bringing out a lot of the closeted-Gossip Girl fans.

What ever happened to the days when MTV would be our only source for new music? What happened to the days when folks would tune in to MTV before heading to work more than Sportscenter? Unfortunately those are long gone. Now the network's all about reality shows, and challenges featuring young 20-something's that figure reality TV is as solid of a career path as accounting. With Teen Mom and Jersey Shore taking over their lineup and bringing in big ratings, it doesn't look as if they'll be changing their format anytime soon.
