With aspirations of electrical engineering when starting his life’s journey, Rotterdam native Ferry Corsten now 27 was persuaded by the desire to follow music instead. Putting devotion into this art made Ferry a fulltime producer in music since 1991. As progression went on in the studio and in his career, he became more fascinated and influenced by trance and house.

Subsequently, in 1996 his work paid off and Ferry landed a position in the U.K. single chart with "Don’t be Afraid" by Moonman as #46. This was his very first major European achievement as a solo dance Artist, producer and composer. In 1997, Ferry joined his long time friend/partner, Robert Smit to formulate a dance record label called Tsunami which was backed Purple Eye Entertainment b.v. The partnership between the two was a great business move and resulted in Tsunami being a prominent dance label currently today. A new label also arrived from these three groups called Polar State.

In 1991, System F was Ferry’s second solo project. In result, the edgy, sonorous tune “Out of the Blue” became one of the most prolific tracks of 1999. This track left Ferry with a tremendous break and an imprint on the top twenty dance chart not only in Europe but internationally.

His other musical projects are: “Carte Blanche” by Veracocha produced with Vincent de Moor. "Gouryella" under the production name Gouryella involved Corsten and Dutch DJ Tiesto. It rose to number 15 on the UK Singles Chart. The second track from Gouryella “Walhalla” also made it on the charts worldwide.

At the Ericsson Music Awards in London, Ferry Corsten prevails again as 1999 “Producer of the Year”, leaving big names like Rodney Jerkins and Puffy behind.

Ferry’s debut album entitled “Out Of The Blue”(System F) featured artist like Armin van Buuren with the single “Exhale and “Dance Valley Theme”, which was for the Dance Valley Festival, which is the biggest outdoor dance party in the world. One of his other creations that made a huge impact on trance was applying soulful, sultry vocals in with trance. This intricate move on Corsten with help from Robert Smit created the single, “Cry”, vocals by Saskia Lie Atjam, leaving noteworthy recognition on him as a producer (additional remixes are by Rank 1, Oliver Lieb and by Ferry himself) Additional vocal tracks are “Indian Summer” and “Soul on Soul” feat Marc Almond. In 2001 Corsten made remixes for “Clear Blue Water” by Oceanlab, “Catch You” by Kosheen and “Arms Of Loren 2002” by Evoke.

Ferry has started the year 2002 with a wonderful start with his tour for Global Transmissions (Moonshine), Also with a remix of Tsunami release “In the Beginning Again” (Roger Goode) out on Double F Double R label in Europe. Also look for “Punk”, first single to be out under his own name before the summer. Following this single, will be his very first Ferry Corsten album that is to be quite successful. Watch out for Trance Nation 2002 compilation coming to a record store near you.

He is definitely on a career high moving three spots up from last year to #19 spot of DJs in the world in DJ Magazine. Expect nothing but higher levels and new beginnings from no other than Holland’s very own Ferry Corsten.
