March Madness is just around the corner, and fans will be excited to see their favorite teams play all across the country, and hoping to survive the tourney one game at a time. March Madness requires that you find a great bar to watch these suspenseful games. Here’s our list of the top five bars you should check out when NCAA March Madness kicks off.

Blondies
212 West 79th Street

Blondies is a well-known sports bar famous for their buffalo wings. These delectable bites are never burnt, always served hot, and are meaty (which believe it or not are hard to come by). The array of TVs in the bar are exactly what you need when it comes to March Madness, because you’ll need to have the game in sight from all angles. No matter what seat you have in the house, you’re bound to have a good picture. Make reservations to ensure you get a seat during the NCAA season, but if it’s an Ohio State game, you’re out of luck. This bar is full of Buckeyes.

Standings
43 E 7th Street

A great college hangout, people come here for shots and various alumni swap stories of their glory days in school. This March surround yourself with all the NCAA basketball tournament action at Standings. While you’re at it, you can get free pizza every Friday night and free bagels on Sunday afternoons. They offer a great beer selection and good TV to patron ratio. While you may not be able to catch a game on a Friday night, you’re guaranteed to catch some action on Sunday.

Phebe's Tavern
359 Bowery Street

With lots of beer on tap, excellent food, and a large quantity of TV’s, Phebe’s Tavern is a recommended spot to watch the NCAA basketball tournament. Located in the East Village, it’s considered the most popular sports bar in the area, and considering the Village is teeming with bars, that’s one hell of a compliment. You may even find people watching games through the windows on Bowery.

Back Page
1472 3rd Avenue

With a huge long bar upstairs, you can relax and enjoy the NCAA matches. Back Page has a multitude of televisions to watch the madness, but most importantly they’re known for having some great beer specials, and what’s March Madness without some brew. If you’re looking for fun, head downstairs for some air hockey, pool, or darts during half time, but you have to rush back into your seats for the second half, you never want to miss a second of action in March.

Lansdowne Road
599 10th Avenue

Right at Hell’s Kitchen, this Irish bar has about 16 HD TVs, which is great for watching the games anywhere in the bar.  Join them for their NCAA Mega March Madness, which is showing 37 live tournament games with daily drink specials. You can see every heated rivalry, agonizing upset and memorable moment the tournament has to offer. Their menu’s definitely worth checking out as well.
