"Reality Bites" 90s Party at Sway Tonight

We don’t know about you, but the tried and true tradition of 80s parties is getting a little, well, played out. By this point, even if you weren’t alive (or old enough to know what was going on around you) in the eighties, you’ve been to enough eighties parties to pretty much get the picture. Thankfully, tonight is “Reality Bites” at Sway, a weekly theme party with a (sort of) new spin – the '90s.

Sway prides itself on being a “rock ‘n’ roll playground for New Yorkers and celebs in the know.” Possessing ample mirrors, dim lighting and darkly Moroccan furnishings, it’s probably one of the swankiest venues a theme party has ever been held in. On top of being hosted in a top notch venue, the party is hosted by Pebbles Van Peebles (this week’s edition is her birthday celebration), the nightlife personality known for her effervescence and energy. “Reality Bites” also has a dress code – grunge. If you’re too young to remember the '90s you might want to consult Google Image Search on this one – this doesn’t mean neon shorts and that not-so-ironic-anymore Christmas sweater.

Entry is free for anyone who wears Doc Martens, flannel or babydoll dresses and anyone who wears more than one gets a free shot! No matter what you wear, be sure to look your best, photogs for Nicky Digital will be out and about to snap the most noteworthy guests. And if you’re afraid of overdosing on just one type of music, don’t worry. Resident DJ Michna will be spinning not only grunge, but rock n roll and dance music. This is one decade-based theme party that will most definitely not be like all the rest.
