Most charity parties are usually balanced equally between males and females. This is probably because many socialite couples enjoy attending these events with other socialite couples who love the idea of combining a fun time with a good cause. However, when it comes to “high priced” business charity events, the males often outnumber the females. Sometimes because the event is very expensive and men still make more money than women, and sometimes because the event is centered on athletes and sports, which men still dominate. The exception is when the event has to do with fashion or high-end luxury items such as clothing or jewelry. In those cases, the women turn out in much greater numbers than the men. This was certainly true at the Gucci Charity party at the Taj Pierre Hotel this week. Hundreds of the most stylish women in New York were there hoping to win a Gucci bag in the auction—for a price much less than retail. Lucky me, I was invited by Mayi Novoa, a gorgeous Peruvian beauty who looks like a cross between Kim Kardashian and Colombian bombshell Sophia Vergara. If that wasn’t enough to have me grinning from ear-to-ear, I was also escorting Danielle Staub (star of The Real Housewives of New Jersey) and now star of her own show, Social, premiering in November on the Wealth Network. Again, lucky me!
