The Hottest New Year’s Fashion Trends for 2011

It has always been tradition in some cultures that the way you end the New Year, is the way your new year will be, so no one wants to end the year out of fashion. This season the fashions will be very Audrey Hepburn meets Marilyn Monroe, keeping things very chic and classy yet very enchanting and bright. This list will help you be up to par with your fashion for this winter and it will make finding an outfit for New Year’s a lot easier.

5. Leather gloves- they are making a comeback this year especially up north in places like New York. The trend is to have them in all sorts of colors, but make sure they are leather. Pair them up with a cute jacket during the day or at night wear them with a hot dress. You can pick up a pair of these at any stores like Nordstrom or Bloomingdales.

4. Scarves- No matter where you live, New York or Florida, scarves are a must have accessory this winter. Pair your outfit with a colorful scarf and you are ready to hit the town. It goes with anything from jeans and a t-shirt to a cute romper or dress. Find a scarf in almost every color, at any store, for any budget so there are no excuses to not be a fashionista this winter.

3.  It’s all about the shoes when it comes to this winter season, but the HOTTEST thing for this New Years is colorful booties or sky-high heels. Anything under five inches will not be considered fashionable this season. If your wallet can handle it, get yourself a pair of Christian Louboutin whom is currently one of the most popular designers out there, otherwise, stick to the usual Steve Madden or Aldo.

2. High waisted skirts are coming back from the 40’s this year. They have been seen in every runway and nearly every celebrity rocking one. You don’t even need to be stick skinny to pull this look off either; in fact, this look is very slimming and can be found for every budget and in stores like Guess or Express.

1. Glitter is to be found everywhere this New Years. Currently there are glittery dresses, shoes and even make up! This look is absolutely essential and it looks so glamorous. Make sure to avoid becoming a sparkling ball of glitter though. Make the glittery object be the main part of your outfit and make everything else very plain. You may find glittery shoes by Steve Madden, dresses in Guess or Nordstrom and make-up at MAC or Sephora. Get yourself some of that glitter and sparkle your New Years.
