The Best Bars in Miami

In a city like Miami where it’s always the right time for a good time, it comes as no surprise that the bars in and around the city can be compared parallel to the amazing nightlife scene clubs. The experiences are different in that the bar scene is unquestionably more versatile; the reason being that bars offer, along with their beverages, a food menu, and let’s face it we all like to eat after having consumed a few drinks. Another advantage on the bar side of things is the opportunity to enjoy a great happy hour with drink and food specials. So, check out our countdown of best bars in Miami.

Best Bar in Miami:
Yard House
320 San Lorenzo Avenue
Coral Gables, FL 33146

With its massive beer selection, classic rock music and traditional American food menu, it comes to no surprise why Yard House made it onto our list of top bars in Miami. This modern day bar/restaurant hosts a dual happy hour one from Monday through Friday between the hours of 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. and another on Sunday through Wednesday between the times of 10 p.m. and close; this “late night” happy hour is ideal for those who tend to miss out on the typically early happy hour. During designated happy hour times, domestic beers begin at just $3.50 a pint and hard liquor drinks start at $4.25. If you find yourself to be a bit hungry, there are also half-priced appetizers and pizzas from the menu—chicken nachos, anyone? This place has all the right things going for itself: great music, a spectacular beer selection, mouth-watering food and a chill ambiance.

Best Bar in Miami:
Hofbrau Beer Hall
943 Lincoln Road
Miami Beach, FL 33139

Although this young buck has only been a part of the Miami bar scene for three years, its ancestry dates back 400 years originating in the faraway lands of Germany. Authenticity plays a big part at this venue, as it imports all of its beer and glassware from its German brewery located in Munich. So, the beer that you are drinking is literally coming in barrels from Munich—anyone care to drink their beer from a two-liter boot? The restaurant also has an authentic food menu with the exception of a couple of selections, including the classic American cheeseburger and grilled fish. The bar offers an interesting take on beer with the “Radler”, a beverage combining beer and sprite. If you’re one to look for great specials, check out the venue during happy hour (Wednesdays from 5  to 7 p.m.) or if you happen to be a foodie, be sure to make an appearance during “All You Can Eat” Tuesdays, spanning from 5 to 8 p.m.

Best Bar in Miami:
The Room
100 Collins Avenue
Miami Beach, FL 33109

The Room, known for alluring an upscale audience, is a classic South Beach venue. The Room doesn’t limit itself to just a bar, as it rents its space out to photo shoots, films and private parties as well. The venue often brings in emerging local talent to give its partygoers a varied musical experience other than the usual mainstream hits found on the radio. But what really makes this place stand out and the reason it made it onto our list is its intimate space perfect for a romantic night out with that guy/girl you’ve been trying to impress.

Best Bar in Miami:
Mr. Moe’s
3131 Commodore Plaza
Miami, FL 33133

This restaurant and bar is a local venue frequented by many. This cozy getaway offers a wide range food menu, but its specialty lies within the BBQ realm and its Angus beef entrees. Located in the renowned Coconut Grove, Mr. Moe’s is open seven days a week between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 a.m. and offers drink specials everyday of the week. The 95-foot long bar houses over 35 beers and hard ciders, and its original “Moose Juice” concoction. The mystery drink is fruity and can be compared to a jolly rancher-type taste.

Best Bar in Miami:
Titanic Restaurant and Brewery
5813 Ponce de Leon Boulevard
Miami, FL 33146

Titanic stands out for independently brewing its own beer. The in-house brewery has won many awards and achievements of which includes a world beer cup award (the only bar to do so in Florida). “We are really pushing the envelope,” says owner Kevin Rusk. “No one is doing what we’re doing.” Although they only brew ales, they have something for everyone, with six beers permanently on tap and three rotating seasonal beers. One of the most notable beers of the bunch is the Double IPA, which boasts about 10% alcohol by volume; the taste isn’t overpowering and you can barely taste the alcohol (which explains why there was a one-per-customer limit at one point). While you’re enjoying one of the restaurants great brews, why not indulge some of the succulent teasers plastered on the menu, which include all-time classics such as ribs, fried chicken wings and burgers; if that doesn’t quite satisfy your cravings, don’t worry, as this venue houses a wide variety of treats. Happy hour takes place every day from 4 to 8 p.m. During the designated happy hour times all house beers are promoted at a $1 off.

Best Bar in Miami:
The Abbey Brewing Co.
1115 16th Street
Miami Beach, FL 33139

The Abbey isn’t your typical Miami Beach haunt, which automatically lists itself on our countdown of best bars in Miami. The Abbey steers away from the typical façade that most Miami Beach venues front, including the need of most venues to exude an upscale atmosphere, by classifying its space as a “friendly, European-style pub.” The bars friendly persona doesn’t by all means make it a lesser player in the mix, as the genius mind behind the venue, Raymond Rigazio, has a perfect selection of three home-brewed beers that keep his bar as a key front runner on our list. The brews include the Abbey IPA, Father Theodore’s Stout and Brother Dan’s Double, all of which can stand up to some of the best beers around town. Apart from the in-house brews, the bar also boats a great array of bottle and tap selections. Happy hour extends from Monday through Friday between the hours of 4 to 7 p.m. with a dollar off select drafts.
