We here at Clubplanet are always looking for new parties to attend, new ventures outside of Manhattan, and the new "it" spots to inform you all about. One place we've been hearing more and more about this year is Long Island City. With Water Taxi Beach hosting some of the best house music DJs, PS1 throwing parties DJed by the likes of Animal Collective, and even guys spinning during the day at 5Pointz (that crazy graffiti spot across from PS1), this area has become a new haven for house music in New York City.
We recently read a little blurb about a spot that has caught our attention: a beautiful lounge/bar/restaurant by the name of Shi that is hosting a PS1 afterparty this Saturday night called PLAY House. From 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. DJs Vatican City (NYC) and Dharma (Argentina) will be spinning an eclectic mix of house music (and a few other gems in between) while Belvedere vodka promotes drinks and shots. And besides the beautiful view of Manhattan Shi has to offer, there’s also an outdoor terrace perfect for enjoying those last warm nights of summer before the cold weather starts up again.
