There’s a new kid in town and you better believe that this newbie is packing some heat. Let’s begin by saying that downtown Miami is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to the nightlife scene. But there’s always room for more. The creative minds behind Poplife along with other innovative contributors have put together one of the coolest venues we’ve seen since the late great Studio A.
Enter: Grand Central. This hot new venue has presented the city with a fresh new space, which we foresee to become a perfect forum for events and mid-sized performances. Grand Central recently opened its doors, located in downtown Miami just a few blocks behind Club Space and other 11th Street venues, which houses Space. Word around town is that Grand Central is going to be the place for live music and up-and-coming artists to perform. Miami needs this! Unlike Fort Lauderdale, Miami lacks a versatile venue….until now that is.
Inside, Grand Central boasts high ceilings and approximately 10,000 square feet of open space. A major concern for most venues is the ability of their structure to compliment the sound. After our trip to Grand Central this past weekend, it became apparent that the sound system, along with the lighting, was perfect, making the venue ideal for live performances. Being uniquely versatile, Grand Central offers an outdoor patio perfect for those needing a breath of fresh air or a quick bite to eat.
Already, just months into its existence, Grand Central has featured Major Lazer, Pirate Stereo and a weeklong of events during WMC (the venue was completely booked). Be on the lookout because you are sure to find great talent continuously performing on the Grand Central stage.
This newcomer continues to prove that it is quite the chameleon. Not only does the space lend itself to nightlife events but to daytime events as well. The best part about it all is that you are assured a great time at an extremely affordable price, and the lack of the “Miami Attitude”. Grand Central’s staff is extremely welcoming and its bouncers are down to earth.
So, now that we have given you a taste of this multi-purpose venue in word-format, be sure to check it out for yourself; You won’t regret it.
