Lil Wayne Makes a Cameo at Jay-Z Concert

Lil Wayne should’ve been in jail last night. He should’ve been caged up in Riker’s Island after pleading guilty to illegal weapon possession. Instead, he rocked the stage at Madison Square Garden during Jay-Z’s sold-out concert. How exactly does that happen? Because last time we checked, being the self-professed "Greatest Rapper Alive" doesn’t give you a “Get Out Of Jail Free” card.

Due to a random (albeit lucky) courthouse fire, Lil Wayne’s jail sentence was postponed. So, to celebrate his last night of freedom, Lil Wayne joined Jay-Z at the greatest arena on Earth. It was a huge surprise to the audience, but unfortunately, the two rappers did not duet on a song together; Lil Wayne only rapped alongside Young Jeezy and Drake on their track, “I’m Going In.” Their performance was (not surprisingly) epic, but it would’ve been interesting and exciting for Hov and Weezy to do a song together, especially on the eve of Lil Wayne’s jail sentence. The concert at MSG was still unreal, with Jay-Z killing it on “Hard Knock Life,” “Encore” and the rest of his set list.

Lil Wayne and Jay-Z may have been teasing New York City last night with the hopes of a duel performance, but here’s hoping that when Lil Wayne is out in a year, he will appear on stage with Jay-Z and (fingers crossed) possibly go on tour with him.
