When the Black Eyed Peas have attended award ceremonies in the past, it’s usually because they’re up for an award. And when the envelope is opened and their name is announced, usually they make their way up to the stage to claim what's theirs. However, things didn’t go as planned this past weekend at an award show in France. During the NRJ Awards in Cannes, the group did win best international song for "I Gotta Feeling," however, when Kesha and French choreographer Kamel Ouali announced that they had also won best international group, that certainly wasn’t the case. They made a hell of a mistake because the card they opened also contained other nominees listed, so Ouali had read the wrong name. The real winner? Germany’s Tokio Hotel.
