One of the more interesting moves in nightlife in the past few months came when The Opium Group took over Cameo, one of the most popular lounge/nightclubs in South Beach. Once they added this venue to their arsenal of properties in South Beach, we could already guess what was next; the strategic placement of bookings amongst each of their venues. Sooner or later each of these venues will be pegged to a particular sound, much like Mansion is for big tech-house sounds, SET for sexy house and Louis for electro. Although nothing has been released just yet as far as Winter Music Conference 2010 goes for The Opium Group, expect big things to come from the new addition to their nightlife roster.
There have been rumors of the Cadenza party coming to Cameo, as well as names like Joris Voorn, James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli. As of yet, nothing has been confirmed for any of the clubs. So this year it's safe to say that Cameo will be a major player in the events game once Winter Music Conference rolls around. We can already expect The Electric Pickle, Space, and Nocturnal to host some big techno events, but for this year’s Winter Music Conference it looks like there may be a new player in the mix.
