If you’re one of the many that’s heading to New York City on New Year’s Eve, you may be wondering how you’re going to head home or to a hotel after drinking and partying the night away. With thousands of visitors taking over the streets of the city, chances are you’re going to be stuck for a while. Fortunately, one hip-hop mogul wants you to get to your destination safely, so he’s picking up the tab.
For the first time ever, CIROC, the “official vodka of New Year’s Eve" and Sean “Diddy” Combs will bring their Safe Rides program to New York City, creating awareness of social responsibility for the holiday season.
CIROC, E! Entertainment, and the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) have united to distribute pre-paid taxi cards that are valued up to $15 and redeemable in the city’s 13,000+ taxi cabs. In other words, if you end up having too much champagne, simply hop on a cab and give the driver your card for a free ride to your home or suite.
Now, let’s be realistic. With thousands of people in Times Square alone, getting a cab may be an impossible mission, right? Don’t worry, the CIROC team is way ahead of us. They will also distribute MTA cards, covering a one-way subway or bus fare. That means one less thing to worry about on New Year’s Eve and more time to party!
Cards will be given out between 8-11PM on New Year’s Eve in Times Square, so keep a look out and get a safe ride for free.
