The Box is a genuine flapper-style vaudeville saloon. It is a two-story theater full of lush fabrics, flapper-printed wallpaper and overwhelming chandeliers. Built to make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time, The Box is a classy New York City venue that everyone should check out at least once in their lifetime.
The Box caters to all your entertainment needs. Its sleek interior, modern menu and fancy cocktail list creates a 1930’s atmosphere. The state-of-the-art stage is graced every night by circus stars, human oddities, and cabaret-themed surprises. Those seated on the main floor become the play things of performers and beloved drag queen host, Raven O. After dinner hour performances, DJs take over the two-level space and an enthusiastic mixed-age audience parties all night.
While the cover charge usually ranges from $25-$45, the venue itself gives you your monies worth. The small bar upstairs caters to those dining in the velvet-curtained balcony booths. Downstairs, lays spacious U-shaped booths for dinner and cuddling moments.
Because this is such a classy place, tables are hard to come by. They run an astonishing $600 to $2,000 a night, and they don't include dinner. Late shows begin around 12:30 a.m. and doors open at 11 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 p.m. all other nights.
When entering The Box, you enter a world that would be similar to the one in the movie Moulin Rouge. The bright lights and French delicacies make you feel like you traveled back in time. So come walk through the unsuspecting door and head into a world full of magic and mystery.
