Top Day Drinking Bars in Miami

It’s pretty fair to say that the Brits find drinking as more of a sociable way to interact with others, while the majority of Americans stick to drinking at night, and usually end up sloshed, thus having them not touch another alcoholic beverage for quite some time. There are those select few of us who, like the Brits, enjoy a couple of drinks in the day. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they’ll get drunk, but just innocently get a nice buzz going on a Saturday afternoon. Where’s the shame in that? In Miami there are hundreds of bars, and when it comes to grabbing a drink in the day, we may have some of the best in the nation. That’s why we’ve narrowed down the list for you of the top day drinking bars in Miami.

Monty’s Raw Bar
2550 South Bayshore Drive
Miami, FL 33133

If there’s one thing that Miami has going for it, it’s the weather. And there’s nothing better than having a nice cold beer or cocktail on a sunny day right by the water. That’s exactly why Monty’s Raw Bar is one of the best day drinking bars in Miami. Not only do they have two locations, one in South Beach and one in Coconut Grove, but they also host one of the best happy hours in the city. While Monday through Thursday it’s pretty busy, Fridays at Monty’s Raw Bar in Coconut Grove is quite possibly the best happy hour in the city. Hundreds of single guys and gals flock here for their signature drinks (try the PK3 people) and their amazing prices. Half off until 8 p.m.!

Jimbo’s Place
Duck Lake Road
Key Biscayne, FL 33149

If you’re looking for something to do in Miami and want the rustic look and feel of a place that won’t overcharge you and won’t be flanked by hundreds of tourists, there’s no place better than Jimbo’s Place. Many movies and commercials have been shot at Jimbo’s, but it’s not because it’s some sort of bar palace, this place is like that old piece of land your grandfather used to own. You know, the spot where he and his pals used to come for a cold one. Jimbo’s Place is located on Virginia Key and hidden from all other commercial watering holes. They don’t serve up liquor here, only cold beers whose price never changes ($3). It’s definitely one of the best day drinking bars in the city and more of an experience than anything else.

Zeke’s Roadhouse
625 Lincoln Road
Miami Beach, FL 33139

If it’s beer selection that you’re looking for on a hot day in South Beach, look no further than Zeke’s Roadhouse, one of the best day drinking bars in Miami. Located on the infamous Lincoln Road, this little hole in the wall has the best beer selection, with over 120 to choose from. Oh, did we mention that it’s only $4 for each beer, that’s right, any beer on the menu. So if you’re looking to get a good buzz going, we suggest grabbing a stiff pale ale that will get you feeling good in no time. Grab a chair outside and people watch while you down them, it’s the best place in Miami to do so.

The Abbey Brewing Co.
1115 16th Street
Miami Beach, FL 33139

If you’re really looking for a bar that’s a total hideout in South Beach, it’s all about The Abbey Brewing Co. No bigger than your bedroom, only offering home brews that will excite your palate, the Abbey is everyone’s favorite after-work hangout in South Beach. It’s small, the beer selection is great and for some strange reason it always feels like it’s nighttime when you’re drinking inside. That probably has something to do with the tinted windows inside. So if you’re looking for a bar that makes you think it’s 9 p.m., when in actuality it’s 1:45 p.m., the Abbey is definitely the best day drinking bar in Miami for you.

Not only to they have a massive layout outside, including a stage, a large pool, and a huge bar, but it’s also located right on the Miami River in downtown Miami. This means that if you’re not looking to drive to Finnegan’s, feel free to cruise up on your boat, tie it up, and have a few drinks and a meal if need be. Finnegan’s is one of the best day drinking bars in Miami and quite possibly the best alternative way to spend your day.
