Halloween in San Francisco

Halloween In San Francisco is the city’s leading event, hosting an adult and children’s festival with various events such as pumpkin pie eating contests and costume contests. In correlation with the festivals, other sponsored events such as the display of a local-artist decorated haunted house, showings of Halloween horror films and A Taste of San Francisco take place. Halloween in San Francisco annually delights residents looking for tricks or treats, but the city also has a lot to offer for those interested in Halloween nightlife events.

2009 is set to be an ultra-exciting experience for residents, as the popular band Phish has promised a three-day Halloween concert that’s rumored to be in San Francisco. The band hasn’t played a Halloween show in over 10 years, but it’s been known for playing other bands’ albums in entirety on the holiday. Past performances have included The Beatles “White Album,” The Who’s “Quadrophenia” and Talking Heads’ “Remain in Light.” The shows will take place Oct. 30, Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Another staple in San Francisco Halloween nightlife events is Perry Mann’s Exotic Erotic Ball. The thirtieth edition of the party is set to take place Saturday, Oct. 24, and calling itself the XXX edition in correlation with its year and the fact that it’s known for celebrating flesh, fetish and fantasy. Five stages, 65 performances, DJs, models, strippers and game booths are just some of what the festival has to offer this year. This event is a Halloween masquerade ball with fetish-themed activities, offering general admission and VIP tickets. It after-party has also gained a pretty strong rep for being one of the hottest Halloween parties in the city, so be sure to check it out.

For those seeking a slightly more toned down Halloween nightlife event, the annual Halloween masquerade offers nine different areas, six rooms of entertainment, 30 bars and the city’s largest costume contest. Taking place on Oct. 31 and bringing in some of the best DJs, it always turns into one of the hottest Halloween nightlife events with patrons costumed all-out.

San Francisco has tons of other Halloween parties and Halloween nightlife events. With Halloween landing on a Saturday this year, there are sure to be more Halloween nightclub events than ever before, with the annual parties being larger and smaller nightclubs offering crazier festivities.
