The Midwest is horrifyingly fun during Halloween. If you want the ultimate in tricks and treats, look no further than Minneapolis. The Twin Cities offer up a ton of scary sites that celebrate the holiday in style.
Minneapolis’ annual Zombie Pub Crawl brings out the city’s most daring citizens. The one rule of the event: you MUST dress as a zombie. Look as undead as possible as you visit a ton of Minneapolis bars. The itinerary for crawl isn’t posted until the day before, but some regular pub stops include Grumpy’s, Bullwinkle’s, Town Hall, and The Corner Bar. All the stops on the Zombie Pub Crawl offer drink specials, so you can get the most BOOze for your buck.
For the undergrads of Minneapolis, Myth nightclub offers an 18+ Halloween party. This year’s event is dubbed Club Oz, with participants encouraged to dress in a Wizard of Oz theme. If Toto isn’t your costume of choice, then dress up anyway to get into the Halloween spirit.
Take a turn on Minneapolis’ Trail of Terror this Halloween. The spectacle, which children are NOT encouraged to attend, features a haunted hayride, 3/4 –mile maze, an interactive murder mystery, and so much more. Finish off the fright-fest at Club Scream or Terror Tavern, two on-site bars.
If you are looking for the scariest spot Minneapolis has to offer, then be sure to go to The Soap Factory’s Haunted Basement. This even is only open to those 18+, and you MUST sign a waiver before going in – it’s that scary! The 120-year old basement is lit only by handheld lanterns, and is set up as a haunted maze. Throughout the tour, tortured children and undead brides meet and greet you with ghoulish screams. Halloween at Soap Factory is truly for horror enthusiasts, and is a must-see for Halloween in Minneapolis.
