There’s a new show that premiered inside of the Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Blvd., but this wasn’t another one of those ultra-modern chic performances that are constantly being pumped out by theater entrepreneurs, this one’s a bit of a throwback. Conjuring up thoughts of the old-school jazz and burlesque vibe that conquered nightlife in the 20’s, The Happy Shop, a show inspired by those times, is aimed at pleasing the LA crowd that looks to witness a great performance á la Mad Men.
Taking place at Cinegrill, the hidden venue located inside of the Roosevelt, The Happy Shop had their first show last Friday night, but they’ll be back on July 25 and August 22 for more. Expect vaudeville dancing, singing, sax and more sax. This performance is definitely an alternative way of spending a night out.
