As we recently mentioned, Jay-Z recently released a track titled "D.O.A." (Death of Auto-Tune) that clearly states his thoughts on the vocal program effect that’s been increasingly popular lately amongst rappers including Kanye West, Lil Wayne and T-Pain, the artist that originally began to heavily use it. However, this isn’t affecting T-Pain in the least bit, instead making it actually act as a catalyst for his recent album and prompting the record label to release it ahead of schedule.
“The album just got pushed up,” T-Pain says. “It makes the label look straight…now Jay-Z done dropped the ‘Death of Auto-Tune’ and it’s time for me to come back.” Although it’s not very clear if Jay-Z meant to specifically call out T-Pain on his use of Auto-Tune, he is the only artist out right now that solely relies on it.
