[Flavia Masson at Butter, NYC]
Clubplanet: Where are you from?
Flavia Masson: New York, New York, the city that never sleeps and keeps me from sleeping.
CP: What NYC neighborhood do you most identify with fashion-wise?
Flavia: Hhhmmm...That’s very tough. I'd like to say downtown, but some people there try way to hard to look like they're from downtown and it's all just a mess. I'll just say the West Village circa 1960.
CP: What's your most treasured article of clothing?
Flavia: Probably a red Christian Lacroix jacket that has so many amazing different colors and textures and beads... it looks like it came straight out of a fairytale.
CP: Who are your favorite designers?
Flavia: Christian Lacroix, Isaac Mizrahi, Alber Elbaz, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Comme des Garçons...There are too many to name. I like mostly the French designers, and designers who have a true sense of fantasy and who are bold. But I'm not a label-whore. If something looks good, I don't care where it came from.
CP: Do you prefer:
New or vintage? I know this sounds so boring, but I like to mix.
Mini-dress or long? Long...I like to leave some mystery.
High-waist or low? High waist. Low should be banned as far as I'm concerned.
Glasses or contacts? Glasses. I don't need them, but I wear them because they sometimes complete a look.
