Winner of Saki Mobile's "Bar of the Year" Contest: Brooklyn's Boulevard Tavern

The polls have closed. The results are in. The drinkers have spoken.

A few months ago, Saki Mobile and Clubplanet launched a contest searching for the “Bar of the Year.”

The results? Refreshingly, and in something of an upset, perhaps, the award did not go to a glitzy lounge like Tao or a mega-club like Space.

Instead, the honors went to a bar in the truest sense of the word—someplace comfortable, someplace chill, someplace you knock down a few with friends.

The honors go to Boulevard Tavern in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.

Before the contest even started, Clubplanet’s official take in Boulevard:

"Having just reopened as Boulevard Tavern, new life was pumped into this formerly defunct establishment and the result is a classic dive bar only New York can pull off. After you enter through the old saloon style swinging doors you will be enter world of cheep beer and good times.

There’s a jukebox filled with classic hard rock classics and a stage for local bands or anyone drunk enough to jump up for impromptu jam. You cant go wrong with $3 draft beer and 50 cent tunes on the jukebox. Boulevard Tavern has all the hallmarks of a local hangout and will hopefully avoid the trendy route."

Some additional tidbits you should know:

- Open from 3pm to 4am 7 days a week.
- Daily happy hour everyday from 4-9pm with nightly drink specials.
- BBQ every Friday through Monday Night featuring the “Best Burgers in Greenpoint”
- Available for parties. DJ equipment available.
