Ryan Blyth X After 6 ft Malisha Bleau - Show Me - [NEW STATE]
It’s all about the bassline. When you think of classic clubland basslines, three come to mind immediately - MK’s dub of Nightcrawlers “Push the Feeling On,” Armand van Helden’s mix of Tori Amos’ “Professional Widow,” and, of course, Deep Dish’s mix of Sandy B “Make the World Go Round.” The latter was so massive that Tall Paul (under the guise of Camisra) scored a Top 5 UK pop hit with a hard house track sampling it called “Let Me Show You.” With the classic house revival in full swing, it was only a matter of time for a 2016 version to surface. Following up the catchy “Once Twice,” Ryan Blyth filters the classic bassline and uses it in a surprisingly subtle way. You have to listen closely and know what you are listening for. This approach is actually quite cool, as the bassline is one element and the brilliantly-sung topline from Malisa Bleau is more in focus. “Show Me” makes a fun pop-dance record to heat up your Sunday Funday celebrations.
