Back in 2008,
Fedde Le Grand and
Funkerman created the massive anthem “3 Minutes to Explain.” In Miami, we bumped into Danny Avila and had 3 minutes to chat with him before he took the stage. Who knew he was such a Donna Summer fan?
RS: How is your Miami?
Danny Avila: Good, very busy, crazy and intense but I am loving it here.
RS: What is coming from you next music wise?
Danny Avila: There is a lot of stuff coming, I am working on music that is a little bit different than the normal stuff that I usually do. I am going a little bit more vocal, melodic, down tempo-ish and trying to find a good balance with my normal stuff as well. That will start coming out very soon.
RS: The big question is which ‘90s song are you going to do a future house remix of?
Danny Avila: I don’t know if it’s from the ‘90s but I really like “Somebody” from Donna Summer.
RS: That works. Who are you collaborating with right now producer wise?
Danny Avila: I am mostly doing solo stuff; I am working on something with Tujamo for a follow up for “Cream” but most of the stuff is solo.
RS: When they make the movie of your life what actor is going to play you?
Danny Avila: Oh damn, what a question, DeadMau5.
RS: You have the same skin coloring. You are not wearing black, oh my god!
Danny Avila: You are the first one to tell me that today. It is too hot in Miami, you have to wear white, it’s just too hot.
RS: What advice would you give to up and coming producers?
Danny Avila: At the moment I would say to work 24/7, the harder that you work the luckier you are going to get. Right now it is really difficult for up and coming producers, there is no rest, just work, work, work.
RS: Just like Rihanna says. What do you want to say to all of your fans out there listening?
Danny Avila: I want to thank every single person that follows me, I am everywhere on the internet so just follow me and check out my stuff.
