A roundup of great progressive, electro, trance, deep house, and vocal tracks:

MarLo ft Christina Novelli - "Hold it Together" [ARMADA]

Singer/songwriter Christina Novellli has a special talent for inspiring producers to create epic work. "Hold It Together" starts with a pretty piano line which builds into a modern trance sound. Christina's vocals mirror the increase in intensity. Electro elements come in gradually as the songs transforms from pretty trance to more of a banger, yet those pretty trance elements are still in the mix. Already featured on A State of Trance, "Hold It Together" is going to be massive as more and more DJs starting playing it. As with any other Christina Novelli song, her "star will set you free."

Anna Naklab ft Alle Farben & YOUNOTUS - "Super Girl" - [EPIC]

Is it deep house, melodic house or sunset house? Rather than put a label on it, let's just call it good. Singer Anna Naklab follows up her cover of "Wicked Game" with another cover, albeit one that is a little more obscure (and interesting). German band Raemon's hit "Supergirl," sung from the male perspective is about a girlfriend who is independent and powerful yet emotional and vulnerable. Sung by Anna, it could be about her girlfriend or about herself in the third person. There are some words that have interesting pronunciations, so the first time through you might want to pull up the lyrics online to follow along. The track from Alle Farben/YOUNOTUS is a bit darker than Alle's previous hit "She Moves" and closer to the somber, deep sound of The Avener or Lost Frequencies. Interesting, deep and dark with multiple meanings, "Supergirl" is a song that will resonate in your mind for a while.

Watermat & Tai - "Frequency" - [SPINNIN DEEP]

Mixing two guys together from opposite sides of the spectrum makes for an interesting collaboration. Watermat exploded last summer with the pretty and tropical grooved "Bullit" while Tai is known for his aggressive glitch and atonal noise infused electro. For "Frequency," the two merged their styles in a way that you can tell who did what, but it fits quite well together. The harsh noises blend with the lush pretty synths for a sexy deep track unlike anything else out there. Now, let's just hope the forthcoming vocal version comes out better than "So Real."

Eric Prydz vs Churches - "Tether" - [PRYDA]

Just as brilliant DJs build sets around perfectly selected tracks, a brilliant producer can build a great track over a perfectly selected sample. Using just two vocal lines and a keyboard hook from the Chvrches album track "Tether," Eric Prydz has constructed a gorgeous and epic modern synth pop song that reinvents and reimagines the downtempo ballad as a stadium ready anthem. Having that ear, vision and imagination is what makes Eric so brilliant. It's kind of like what he did with Steve Winwood's "Valerie," the source for his breakthrough smash "Call on Me." Speaking of which, check out the new Aylen + Deahl bootleg which turns the disco house classic into a modern trap and booty monster.

Lexer ft Belle Humble - "Feels Like This" - [KONTOR] and Qulinez ft Belle Humble - "Body Dancing" - [ARMADA]

This is one of those moments where one song is rocking my world and I check the email and another song with the same singer arrives and turns my ADHD into overdrive. British singer Belle Humble has explored the world of breaks (Freestylers) and electro (Lazy Rich) and is now going a bit deeper. "Feels Like This" is trop house with a choral pop feel highlighting both the softness and range of her vocal. Working with Qulinez, her vocals are more talk-sing, like Icona Pop, over a progressive house track with a pop feel. Belle Humble is obviously having fun exploring the different genres of EDM and you should join her on the journey.
