- Diana Kost One of the benefits of being a lady in Las Vegas is that (usually) you don’t have to pay for much. Most clubs offer reduced or free admission, and there’s always a gentleman willing to pay for a drink. That means only one thing: extra cash. And what better way to spend your hard-earned money than by buying the latest fashions? So read on for the summer’s hottest new trends and how you can have them, regardless of the size of your (or your boyfriend’s) bank account. Dresses The tunic is back and it’s better than ever. Okay, it may not be better than ever, but it’s certainly one of the most sizzling items to have this summer. Thanks to the high-wasted belt sewn into the dress, a woman of any size or shape can wear it and still look stunning. Betsey Johnson’s charmeuse V-neck tunic/mini-dress with sleeves does the trick ($270). And if that sounds too steep for a seasonal piece, try the ginger dress from Forever 21 at the Fashion Show mall for a mere $22.80. Shoes An outfit is never complete without the right pair of shoes. So when looking for some guidance, I go to the shoe god, the one and only Christian Louboutin. Found on the feet of such celebs as Beyoncé and Sarah Jessica Parker, Louboutin knows what a woman needs. And a woman always needs black patent, brown cork pumps, which run between $650 and $710. Of course, if you calculate that you need a place to store these shoes and eviction is on the horizon, try Aldo’s almost identical Kentville pumps, which sell for only $100 at the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino or the Fashion Show mall. Handbags Handbags are to shoes as salt is to pepper; it makes utterly no sense to have one without the other. This summer, big is back, which is especially useful for the Vegas female. Not only can you fit your wallet, makeup and keys into your handbag, but you can probably also fit a change of clothing, in case, you know, you meet someone. The Botkier bianca satchel comes in four colors and costs $595. Of course, you may not need a wallet after that, so try the double-pocket doctor bag from Urban Outfitters at Mandalay Place. It’s only $68, and you’ll be able to enjoy a nice dinner with the cash you’ve saved. Better yet, go with a date and save even more. Sunglasses Sunglasses were made to shield your eyes from the sun, but Tom Ford’s plastic aviators in color BR were meant to make you look hot. Unfortunately, spending $490 for a pair of sunglasses (that you’ll probably loose) may not seem like the best idea. Instead, try the mod aviators from Nine West at the Fashion Show mall. At $34 a pair, you can buy them in all three colors (black, brown and white). It’s like a brand new outfit, really. ![]() |
