- Jipsy Hey guys! This week I started off with the sexy women of “H Para Hombres” Party at The Ritz Carlton on South Beach for the celebration of the US debut of the publication. The monthly publication features flawless, sexy photos of actresses, models and singers from the Latin entertainment community, as well as articles for men such as health, sports and advice. The guests consisted of Miami’s media moguls, singers, soap stars and models who have graced the magazine in the past. After a round of Moet champagne, a performance by Mariana Seoane (from La Fea Más Bella – Ugly Betty in Mexico) and an unveiling of “H’s” five sexiest Latino bachelors, I was ready for the rest of the week. Now it’s Wednesday and these last few days have been a mission at home. GAT is actually suppose to be up on Tuesdays but with all that’s going on this week; I’ve been busy with the emails, phone calls and running around. I missed the “Superbad” screening at Regal South Beach but made it up with “Charlie Bartlett” at the Sagamore. Keep an eye out on Kat Dennings who was the co-star in the film. Next film on my list: The Simpson’s. Instead of seeing the movie, I’ll be celebrating The Simpsons at The Forge this Wednesday, July 25, with complimentary beer (hoping its Duff), Motley Bird (the new energy drink taking over the beach) Martinis, and Donuts prepared by Krusty The Clown until 11 pm. There will be limited exclusive invites to the screening being given away and if I am lucky, I may get mine. Thursday there is way too much going on all at the same time slot, all interesting enough to talk about. Here are some I think you may be interested in: Ocean Drive and Sunglass Hut present Alter Perception with Jai Rodriguez, host of Si TV’s STyleyes Miami. It’s Thursday, July 26th from 7 pm to 9 pm. Summer Chic Cocktails and hors d’oeuvres plus fabulous people and music. The event is at the Lincoln Road Sunglass Hut and to RSVP you can call 305.532.2544 x1403. Then there is the official Miami launch of The Art Of Exotic Dancing for Everyday Women. Besides the complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres I am a bit more interested in the instruction of exotic dance moves. The event starts at 7:30. RSVP to Renee at 305.321.9506 or renee@artofexoticdancing.com. Also, an event for art lovers at miArte Gallery in Coral Gables. They present Edward Berounsky’s new works titled Heavy Metal. The aluminum metal sculptures weigh about 100 to 150 pounds hence the name. Also on display are works by Ulises Gonzalez, MANO and George Rodez. Opening reception is Thursday from 7 to 10 pm. For more information go to: www.miartegallery.com. But these are just a few of what’s going on Thursday. If you want something a little more of the networking kind without the guest list and velvet ropes, a nice networking mixer at Chispa Restaurant in Coral Gables might just be the thing for you. This and every Thursday, local professionals are invited to come on by after work to unwind and mingle. From 6 to 7 enjoy complimentary drinks and from 6 to 10 nibble on complimentary appetizers while you trade business cards. Just show up, sit at the bar and start to relax over a cocktail at sunset. Chispa is located at 225 Altara Avenue in Coral Gables. That’s just some of the mixers and events going on this Thursday. Where will you be? New in my MP3 player
Thursday – As if there wasn’t enough to do, Touch Restaurant on Lincoln Road in South Beach will host the Love The Locals networking event starting at 8 pm. There is a complimentary cocktail reception from 8 to 10 pm but if you want to enjoy a nice dinner by candle light, $39 pre-fix dinner menus are available. Touch Restaurant & Lounge, 910 Lincoln Road – Reservations: 305.532.8003 Friday – Like Jazz? This and every last Friday of the month Jazz Moca present a free concert with the museum open to the public that night from 7 to 10 pm by donation (meaning you can pay what you wish). Bring your chairs, blankets, a nice bottle of wine, fruits, sandwiches or what every you like and enjoy. Performing this week, the fabulous Nicole Yarling. Saturday – O Asian Grill on South Beach has become a very trendy hot spot with sexy people stopping by for late night noodles at The Noodle Shop upfront and making their way to the inside for the sounds of DJ Mark Leventhal. Instead of a dinner with a greasy burger and fries, come on by for more music, people watching and decently priced food. It’s open till 5 am, so no excuses.
