Gourmet cuisine hardly comes to mind when you think of a gentlemen’s club, but newcomer Men’s Club Las Vegas is proving that strip plus steak can (and does) work. The club’s Alchemy Kitchen and Raw Bar have received glowing reviews due, in large part, to legendary sommelier Stephen Geddes at its head-chef helm. With a double-breasted bib and a fistful of dollars (for tips!), we spoke with Operations Manager Ian Kohoutek to see how fresh tuna with a side of tah-tahs succeeds in Sin City. Like many Vegas institutions, dining at the Men’s Club packs a one-two punch of novelty and bragging rights. “We give our customers a very unique dining experience,” said Kohoutek. “They come out for a fine dining meal, enjoy a bottle of wine and have an adult cabaret theme all at once.” Aside from the flagship Men’s Club in Reno, there are few venues that combine an upscale restaurant with adult entertainment. “The cuisine is a perfect complement to the atmosphere,” added Kohoutek. Andre’s- and Aureole-alum Stephen Geddes carries more than a penchant for restaurants beginning with A, bringing his chops as a renowned sommelier to the table, as well as a rotating menu he reworks throughout the year. “We take all the freshest ingredients from all over the world, and we base our menu upon that,” Kohoutek explained. “It’s also the first time I’ve ever heard of employing two master sommeliers in one restaurant.” But what dish goes best with a lap dance? Try the Kick Ass Filet Mignon, an Alchemy Kitchen specialty bathed in a Malmsey reduction and paired with foie gras and imported mushrooms. For less filling fare, Raw Bar offers an international array of fresh sushi and traditional raw tapas from Greece, Italy and Spain. And, thanks to Geddes, patrons can enjoy a selection of more than 10,000 bottles of wine. Clientele Forget scraggly car salesmen letting off steam with a wad of sweaty bills. The restaurants attract a higher caliber of clientele—businessmen, doctors and the casually curious. “We’ve also had amazing feedback from our high-end clientele,” said Kohoutek. “We even had a 65-year-old Jewish couple come in and enjoy Raw Bar after reading about us in a magazine.” Décor Eschewing the usual dim and mirrored 1970s décor of traditional jiggle joints, the club embraces an exotic Moroccan theme with animal prints, latticed skyboxes, slate walls and embroidered sofas. When To Go Wednesday nights host the high-end Fabulous Feast Buffet from 11:30p.m. to 2:30 a.m. “Most places offer free finger foods,” said Kohoutek, “but we offer a full feast, with hand-carved prime rib and other sidesplitting delicacies.” If you have a hankering for exotic foods and exotic dancing in the late night, Men’s Club on Tuesday nights offers an after-hours party. Starting at 2 a.m., patrons can mosey on in after a night of gambling, clubbing or watching “Late Night with Conan O’Brien.” ![]() |
