Crystal's, Lake Charles

It is Nice...

My husband and I went on our first date last night with our submissive partner, kitten. She lives in Lake Charles and recommended this club after dinner. Hubs (mostly strait) and I (very bi) have attended a LGBT club before in Vegas when we lived there and were excited to see what this one offered.
We were a bit surprised when we arrived that the dance floor was empty though the club was a bit crowded. We got our drinks (delicious btw) and found a seat. Turns out we had unknowingly chosen a night with a Drag Queen show -- mothers and their LGBT kids performing. We were very excited and were not disappointed with the show!
It was excellent and so much fun!!! When the show was over we stayed and danced several songs before taking our kitten off to the hotel...
We will, without a doubt, be back! The atmosphere was excellent, the dance floor roomy and the people were awesome!

I am a straight woman in a committed relationship, and I have a few gay and bisexual male and female friends. Some of us went to Crystal's on "Drag Nite" last Saturday. My group consisted of gay, bi and straight singles and couples and EVERYONE had a GREAT time. The atmosphere was friendly and while the bar staff was very busy they were as attentive as possible and made strong excellent tasting drinks. There were a surprising number of straight couples hanging out with gay friends there, as well as a few straight dude pool players hoping to get picked up by bi girl couples. That didn't happen, adding to their disappointment and my amusement. Crystal's is far from the most glamorous club I've ever been to, although that's not saying TOO much. The only things I really disliked about the place were the small bathrooms with curtains for stall doors, and a narrow width that made it harder to shoot pool when it became more crowded. I'd heard of Crystal's past violent reputation, but the atmosphere was as laid back and friendly as I've come to expect of most gay clubs. There WAS some excitement as a very drunk and probably high swinger guy groped a performers crotch during her set. You haven't been entertained til you see a gorgeous 6'4" drag queen kick the living S**T out of someone TWICE and manage to gracefully finish her song. Well, this is about all I can say about the place, and that my friends and I will definately be going back at least one weekend out of the month from now on.

This place has dirty bathrooms, a Poor dance floor( it is so scuffed up, it is deffinately no Country dance floor) the place was a Major disappointment compared to the reviews. I went with a beautiful chick and she was not having any fun and that meant I was not having any fun. I have walked in a bar like this with many different girls and the gay, bi, and straight girls have been all over place but not here it was few and far between. I was expecting a jam up wild club and I was truly disappointed. I can say that this club is not for straight people of any kind. I believe I have chosen the improper words to describe this club. This is directed at any Straight guy(I mean the type that when u walk into a club any Straight, Bi, or Gay individual says "He is straight " and u don't even have to look like u are uncomfortable)! These people are few and far between, u have to be okay with what you will see and what you only read about in the reviews on here because it takes an extremely straight and Crazy individual to come in this place, if you are in the category of people I am directing this towards then you are like me, you can block out everything u don't want to see after about five mins and focus on the people or crowd of women u are interested in at the particular time. I am one of these few people and I will explain a little further in detail cause u don't see straight guys write reviews about places like this in the South very often. I am not talking about the Homophobe or the guy who is in one of these places and wanting to fight a gay or bi "Clubber" for hitting on him, or the guy who is extremely straight yet will not talk to or get anywhere near a gay guy, these are the guys who are not necessarily the ones who are there and "Undercover" because I know that every gay guy has an answer for the guy that is supposedly in the closet. Im sorry but not every man that a gay guy looks at in the gay clubs are looking or in the closet or have gay thoughts, there are truly people that only are interested in men and I am talking about the guys that's that u all say o he is struggling with this issue and that issue and this is why and that is why. Just face it everyone is not a Physcologists or Phyciatrist, but these are more likely the ones who see some of this stuff and are intrigued secretly. If you are going to a place like this u know what might happen and you go because you are going to have a good time with the girls u are with and take all of the rest of the atmosphere and actually block it out, and if you can't do that completely then you should not go to this place. You will become extremely uncomfortable very quickly and you will never go anywhere near another club like this, if you love women these clubs are always great to go to, if you are accompanied by women. I'm sorry but this club is a huge disappointment and I will never go to it again.

Because it is mainly a "gay bar", in the past law enforcement has ignored security complaints. However, the last few times I've gone, there has been a sheriff's office car and officer outside the building and the club has added more security. This has taken absolutely nothing away from the atmosphere - the only place in the area where you can go to have a wonderful atmosphere of fun, love, and party! No one judges anyone and almost everyone is respectful of everyone of any race or handicaps. I'm straight, and I'd rather go to Crystal's than most of the other popular clubs in Lake Charles.

crystals is a great place to go to meet other gays and lesbians. i would recommend it

Crystal's has had numerous stabbings and people getting jumped recently. Nothing is being done aobut this and I think it's CRAP. This used to be the funnest hangout now it's turned to sh*t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gay/Lesbian Bar but straights go too. Great place, great music, fine women! I would recommend going.
