Mc Guire's Pit Stop New Orleans, Venue Description

Mc Guire's Pit Stop, located at 4117 Jefferson Hwy, has a smooth and chill vibe. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll be dancing on tables, but it’s no dive bar, either. A good mix of laid-back décor and casual comfort. -Review of Mc Guire's Pit Stop

Good Place to Watch the Race
I visited this bar last night to watch the Nascar race. I was little hesitant to visit after reading the reviews, especially because I am not your typical Nascar fan and thought I might feel like an outsider at an esteblishment which is geared toward Nascar fans. However, I found the service to be excellent, and the employees and clientele were very friendly. I never once felt out of place, my drinks were always replaced promptly, and a good time was had by all. I will definitely stop by again the next time I want to go out to watch a race, or even when I just want a cheap brew. I recommend this bar to anyone who is looking for a relaxed atmosphere and a cheap beer.

p.s. - There was a bumper sticker displayed behind the bar which does show a level a racial insensitivity, although it is far from overt racism.

Owner
Just wanted to respond to all three of the reviews below. Jim Bruer,
I have never called any customer the n------ word!!!

Mike Thomas,
After some research, I have found no evidence, via digital surveilance that you ever stepped foot in this place.

Joe who want give his last name.
I do remember you, and as I recall we made a l ast minute deal. that you agreed to. Then you found out another group got a little
better deal only because they booked a party way in advance. Then you started getting obnoxous and making threats. Now you have chosen to make up lies about the place. Keep it up and I will see you in court. That is if you have the balls to tell your last name.

Very strange
I stopped by last night on my way to dinner. Somehow it took 10 minutes to get a weak, expensive drink since the bartender was on her cell phone. Once I did get served the bartender was rude and tried to rip me off on my change. I gave her a 20 and she gave me 6 dollars back. I obviously alerted her and instead of giving me my money she went and got the owner/manager who accused me of trying to steal! I was dressed in a suit at the time. After 15 minutes and my threatening to call the police he finally gave me my correct change. I left no tip (obviously) and was told not to come back on my way out. It was the worst experience I've ever had with a bar. Do not support this disgusting, vile place.

Despicable owners and terrible service.
I have ben to ove 100 bars in this city and this is undoubtedly the worst bar in New Orleans. The drink were weak and small. The owners are cheating, lying scum. We negotiated a party there for my business on short notice. It was supposed to be a private, open bar with well drinks and beer from 10-1. When our party of over 100 arrived the co-owner told us that the deal we made with his partner never occurred. He alerted us we could open a tab (WITH NO DRINK SPECIALS). He also told us it was "open bar" because the bar was clearly open and we were allowed in. Absolutely attrocious service as well. I stood at the bar for 15 minutes without getting a drink AND witnessed a kitchen worker come out of the toilet stall (not a urinal) and NOT wash his hands. The clientel (who were not suposed to be there) were creepy and made a number of the females feel uncomfortable. One man there actually badmouthed are armed forces (not the decisions, but the individuals who served) and the owner had the gall to tell me I was an idiot for suporting the military.

Overall I wouldn't recomment this place to anyone unless you enjoy the possibility of being molested by there disgusting clientel while overpaying for terrible drinks. Someone forgot to tell these creeps that in order to be a succesful bar in New Orleans you have to make good drinks, have good service and treat your customers with some respect. It goes without saying I will never go back. I recommend that you don't ever go there. It will undoubtedly not be there for very much longer.
