Sound-Bar Chicago, Venue Description

Sound-Bar -

Despite opening under a cloud of controversy when the city of Chicago delayed the club’s launch for a year and a half, Sound-Bar has set the standard for nightlife in the Windy City. Treating club goers to the finest in design, sound and lighting, the 20,000 foot, two floor nightclub offers something for everyone with its multiple rooms, private party areas and DJs spinning everything from dance music to hip-hop. Regularly hosting a mixture of the world’s finest DJs alongside some of Chicago’s top jocks, Sound-Bar caters to the fashionistas and bottle service crowd with its exclusive VIP area and Round Bar, but also attracts the hardcore clubber for their Friday nights. Drink prices are steep, and despite the club’s strict dress code (particularly when it comes to gym shoes), you’ll have trouble finding a spot to sit down to rest your feet after hours of dancing and socializing.

This club sucks
Don't give them your money. The staff is really rude. I paid a lot of money to get into this club on New Year's Eve. When I got there the power was out. They wouldn't let anyone in line inside, even though it was FREEZING outside. I waited for half an hour, when the doorman finally told me to go home. I called later and asked for a refund of my $86 ticket but they wouldn't give me one. Rude people, bad management.

This place is bland
Sound system and look (especially colors) are quite impressive, but the atmosphere is really bland, so are watered-down drinks. Good for suburbanites and some yuppies who like to take myspace-type pictures with their phone cameras.
