I understand what the below statement is saying. certain doormen are racist as hell. i personally know a couple of them who tell me themselves that their own bosses are racist and only allow certain amounts in. they do on some occasions have to let only people of lighter racists in. now you being pretty and rich would fools dont care. i have seen them turn around gorgeous ass model chicks that were black i mean gorgeous they wouldnt let them in. but they let the sloppy white or hispanic chicks in. and i do mean sloppy looking like they rolled out the bed and put on clothes. the only reason i got in was because i was with one of those promoters. i guess people never know until they are in your shoes. and also some of those pretty chicks are mainly escorts so they gotta let them in to make some money.

I loved it when I went. The music was great. They gave us a great table. And the folks there made sure everything we needed was there for us. People complaining about not being able to get in are either, broke, ugly or broke and ugly. And truth be told, you can be as ugly as you want to be if you have dough. So either, get a makeover or some deeper pockets. Quit showing up with a bucnh of people and get your hotel concierge to hook you up with some priority admission passes.

The music here is always good. While it may be on the edgy side, you won't find it hard to have a good time.

Two of my friends and I visited Miami for Presidents' Day Weekend 2008 and decided to go out to Prive. After waiting in line for approx. 10-15 minutes, a black doorman approached us and said "You will be better off going to Opium [the club next door] because we have reached our quota on you guys." Since the club was still letting people in, we inferred what he meant by "you guys" was, in fact, "black females". Needless to say, we were absolutely appalled by this blatant racial (and gender) discrimination. Although nightclubs such as Prive may reserve the right to be selective in who they allow into their venues, I'm pretty sure that this selectivity does not extend to someone's race - at least not in the last few hundred years. As beautiful, intelligent (we are ivy league school graduates and pursuing careers in law, medicine, and engineering), black females who were extremely well-dressed (equally, if not, better than many of the Caucasian people they were letting in), I was/am incensed that we were denied entry simply because of the color of our skin. In my 23 years, I have never been subjected to racism and this is just another example demonstrating that this issue is still alive and well in this country. Frankly, this will not be the last time anyone who reads a review about Prive will hear about this "racial quota" as we intend on spreading the word on their racial discriminatory practices.
