Sonotheque -
Brought onto the Chicago scene by a collaboration of the people behind Blackbird, Mod, and Funky Buddha Lounge, Sonotheque rocks a minimal look specially designed to boost the acoustics for the rare groove DJs that spin here. There's no dance floor, and the scene can get a little low-key, but if you're all about the music, there's no better destination.
Conversation can get difficult and drink prices are astoundingly reasonable, but you're not coming here to talk or drink - Sonotheque is a temple for expanding your third ear. Keep an eye out, as the owners don't promote visiting DJs as well as they should. The crowd can get a little much, but there's still plenty of potential here.
