Pete's Candy Store - Just north of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway in Williamsburg Pete’s Candy Stores sits on a quiet residential section of Lorimer Street amongst buildings covered in various shades of pastel and off-white siding. Working class families still control this section of the neighborhood, apparent from the Christmas lights left up through April, the Easter Bunny window decals visible in June, and the Jack-o-lanterns in December. Inside beautiful, tattooed Jesuses from behind the bar serve up inexpensive beers that are complimented by an unthreatening cocktail list and live music can be found nearly every night of the week in Pete’s deliciously rustic and intimate performance space. Plenty of outside seating is available in the rear garden, just try to keep the noise down.
