Elephant & Castle - Nestled among the throngs of office buildings in the Financial District, Elephant & Castle is a far cry from the cliché family-style chains. Sure, all twenty of its locations are modeled after a proper English pub, but the boys club feel negates any signs of uniformity. You can find an assortment of suits unwinding after a day full of meetings and number-crunching weekdays, and a more family-friendly crowd on the weekends.  Pub-style food and hearty beers are plentiful, and helps keep some calorie counters at bay.  Originality may be dead but chain restaurants are here to stay.
