Black Rose - A big, happy, cavernous, very Irish pub in the mall/landmark Faneuil Hall. You can guess what to expect before you even go in. Large, foamy pints of Guinness, a nice selection of whiskeys, waitresses from Rhode Island trying to sound like a Dubber, corned beef, bangers and mash, and lots and lots of tourists. Having said all that, the Black Rose offers some great live music, at no charge, almost daily. Granted, it’s uniformly Irish folk music, but the real fun starts when the homeland-loving crowd joins in. American boys and girls (mostly girls) schooled in Irish step dancing frequently get up and strut their Riverdance stuff.
