Bell In Hand Tavern - They claim to be the oldest continuously functioning bar in North America. Founded around 1795, though not at this precise location, the Bell in Hand still slakes the thirst of hard-working Bostonians with a wide selection of tap beers and not a few mixed drinks. The problem with the place is pretty predictable – mobs and mobs and mobs and mobs of tourists. We’re sure they’re perfectly nice people, but nothing screws up your bar experience like drinking with people who never drink. Still, if you wait them out (they are the asleep-at-10 sort) the place gets livelier at night when the bands start to play.
