Ortanique - This is the DC branch of a hugely popular Coral Gables, Fl restaurant, and one can perceive its Floridian roots in its menu, its weirdly, spastically friendly staff and its haphazard service. But if you don’t venture too far a field on the menu (jerked foie gras, anyone?), you should be reasonably satisfied with the bright, aggressive cuisine, particularly with the fin fish and the soups. Don’t forget to load up on mojitos and pisco sours at the gigantic bar while you wait (and wait and wait) for a table. There’s an ocean-sized fish tank to gawk at, and failing that, the clientele.
