Burgundy Room - Hollywood is back. Rising from the ashes is the Cahuenga Corridor dotted with old and new and tragically hip bars. Smack dab in the middle of all this sits the Burgundy Room exactly where it has been since 1918. For starters this is one dark-ass bar. And loud. Seriously, it is dark enough that you could accidentally get ditched while going for a refill or hitting the head. In LA's version of CBGBs black is the new black and non-conformity is the style. If your eyes manage to adjust, over the bar you'll see Chinese lanterns and parasols mixed with an overflowing treasure chest and skeleton. Interesting decor for a bar with a punk rep. More true to form are the cheap drinks slung by a nouveau-goth bartendress and unapologetic hard core music. Rumor has it when things are really rolling they set the bar on fire. It is a great place to get your night started and if you get left by your crew chances are you will never notice.
