Gotham Hall - Gotham Hall, set in the middle of the Third Street Promenade between the trendy shops and chain stores, crams half-dozen different venues into one spot: pool hall, martini lounge, sports bar, restaurant, dance club, and live concert hall. You’d expect that trying to do so much would make Gotham fall short in some areas, but this mix of crowds gels surprisingly well. The purple, gold, and green wall and table coverings blend with the leather chairs and couches, and give the place a dark and mysterious (if slightly tasteless) feel. The giant video screens in the mezzanine area play sports games or movies while just a few yards away the Westside crowd crams onto the sweaty dance floor. If you want a more mellow night you can slip over to the martini lounge or order something off the overpriced but tasty menu. The bartenders and doormen are all business, but the clubbers are much more casual than you’ll find in Hollywood--maybe it’s something in the ocean air.
