Friendly neighborhood dive that caters mainly to lesbians and gay men, who lend the place a crowded, cruisy feel. The cramped U-shaped bar doesn't leave much room for what has been called Chicago's smallest dance floor, but the regulars don't seem to complain. The locals-only attitude can irk some patrons, but most praise the waitstaff's attitude. The Closet has a real local vibe, especially during the day when the atmosphere is quiet and loungy. Some regulars complain that the girl scene has been overwhelmed by the influx of men, but most treasure the place for what it is and keep coming back.
