Schubas/Harmony Grill - Given its killer indie rock jukebox and formidable concert schedule, Schuba’s has been a haven for Chicago music fans for almost 20 years. The front room is a comfortable arrangement of forest-green walls, an antique bar, beer signs, and countless flyers advertising upcoming shows. The back concert hall, which has hosted everyone from The Meat Puppets to Grandaddy to a variety of up-and-coming local acts, is a stripped-down space with excellent acoustics and room for 177 bodies. Schuba's also offers The Harmony Grill, an in-house restaurant that serves up the city’s best macaroni and cheese, alongside tasty burgers, chicken, pork and steak—heavy, down-home offerings well suited for a pre- or post-concert snack. Open early on the weekends for brunch and closing down late after the musicians clear the stage, Schuba’s and The Harmony Grill are a great combination for music fans with a taste for more than just music.
