Marie's Rip-Tide Lounge -

Owned and operated by the same owner since 1961, Marie's hasn't changed its decor since that decade. The nostalgia trip is a heady one, but somehow baby boomers aren't the only ones onboard and Marie's is popular with bar hopping Bucktown twenty and thirty-somethings. A collection of festive cardboard cut-outs hangs behind the bar, and the jukebox is full of the classics. Keep it down when you're leaving - Marie still lives upstairs, and she's in her 70s by now. That doesn't stop her from occasionally tossing back shots with her loving patrons, though.
