Irish Eyes -
Daily drink specials and live Irish music attract a diverse crowd ranging from DePaul University students to neighborhood locals to old-time regulars. Although the setting of this Lincoln Park tavern is casual, the crowd is anything but laid-back. Usually, patrons are social and merry, sometimes rowdy and drunk, and always a total blast. Thus, it is the unassuming atmosphere combined with the lively crowd that secures Irish Eyes as a destination spot during St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The elongated polished wood bar, tiny-corner stage, and plethora of four-tops occupies the majority of this one-room alehouse, where the décor consists of bar trinkets, Irish memorabilia, and, well, anything green. Darts, Golden Tee, and overflowing Guinness appease the patrons who are entirely convinced that every day is St. Patrick’s Day.
